Apple, com’è ovvio che sia, è al lavoro ad nuova versione di iOS che dovrebbe portare alcune interessanti novità ma soprattutto mettere fine all’elevato numero di bug riscontrati dagli utenti nelle attuali versioni, iOS 7.0.4 compreso, ed oggi ha rilasciato una beta di iOS 7.1 agli sviluppatori, facendo intuire che la nuova versione potrebbe arrivare prima del previsto!
iOS 7.1 è stato rilasciato ieri agli sviluppatori accompagnato da un changelog, che purtroppo non indica le novità e i fix destinati agli utenti della nuova versione, ma solo note e modifiche del sistema operativo che dovrebbe essere di interesse agli sviluppatori stessi.

Previously, if the server-side closed an HTTP request with TCP FIN without sending any bytes of HTTP header or HTTP body, NSURLConnection would synthesize an empty HTTP/1.1 200 OK response. A new compatibility behavior has been added to address an issue where some web servers would send the wrong Content-Length value for “Content-Encoding: gzip” content. Previously, NSURLConnection and NSURLSession would send a “network connection was lost” / NSURLErrorNetworkConnectionLost (-1005) error in this situation.The compatibility behavior applies only if the Content-Length value exactly matches the expanded gzip’d content. It won’t apply for “off by 1” or similar miscounting.

La speranza ora è che si stia veramente cercando di lavorare al massimo delle possibilità e con tutte le risorse possibili, se non per risolvere tutti i bug di iOS 7, quanto meno per rimuovere la maggior parte di essi, e che il nuovo iOS 7.1 possa finalmente mostrare di cosa è capace questo sistema operativo targato Apple!
